The BIA Baldy View Chapter (BIA BV) mourns the passing of Hesperia Mayor, Russ Blewett. Mayor Blewett, who died at the age of 74 surrounded by his family early Wednesday morning, was a tireless public servant who cared deeply for the City and its citizens. Russ was also a homebuilder by trade and BIA Past President in 1994 and a BIA Hall of Fame inductee in 1995.
“Russ Blewett’s passion for both public service and homebuilding was unmatched. The BIA family is heartbroken over his sudden passing and send our deepest condolences to Russ’s family and friends,” said Carlos Rodriguez BIA BV CEO. Blewett, was elected to the Hesperia Council in 2010 and served as mayor in 2012 and 2018. He also served on the Baldwin Park City Council for eight years in the 1970′s and was named the youngest mayor in America in 1971.
