AMY OLSON
Southern California Edison
Amy Olson is a Senior Account Manager in the Business Customer Division of Southern California Edison. She serves as a trusted energy and Edison advisor to customers in the water segment. Out of the 50,000 square miles of Edison territory, Amy assists customers primarily in the Eastern region of the state with a wide range of sizes and challenges. She has worked at Edison for the past 12 years and started out in the Pump Test and Hydraulic Services department, was integral in implementing the pump efficiency incentive measure and the water/energy nexus strategy. Amy loves to assist customers in gaining efficiencies and finding ways to stretch their energy budget farther.
CURTIS PAXTON
Chino Basin Desalter Authority
Curtis Paxton was appointed General Manager/CEO of the Chino Basin Desalter Authority (CDA) in January 2011. The Desalters were established to treat contaminated groundwater in the southern portion of the Chino Basin, and to help the Chino Basin Watermaster achieve “hydraulic control” of the basin to stop the flow of contaminated groundwater into the Santa Ana River. Curtis has over 30 years of experience in the water/wastewater field. Curtis is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California, and holds a Grade V Wastewater Treatment Operator License. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona and an MBA from the University of La Verne.
JESSE POMPA
Inland Empire Utilities Agency
Jesse Pompa is a senior engineer at the Inland Empire Utilities Agency. Since 2010, he has taken on several roles within the Agency, including air quality compliance, project management, recycled water planning, and energy management. Jesse received a Master’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine and is a licensed Mechanical Engineer with the State of California.
KRISTEEN FARLOW
Cucamonga Valley Water District
Ms. Kristeen Farlow serves as the Communications & Outreach Manager of the Cucamonga Valley Water District, whom she joined in 2004. She manages the District’s public outreach, marketing, communications, education, water conservation, & media relations. Ms. Farlow sits on the Association of California Water Agencies Communications Committee and is active with the California Association of Public Information Officials. Ms. Farlow received her Master of Public Administration degree with a specialization in Water Resource Management from California State University San Bernardino.
RANJIV GOONETILLEKE
Southern California Gas Co.
Ranjiv is a professional engineer with over 30 years of experience in design, commissioning and operation of water pumping systems for the Power Generation and Municipal Water Pumping field. At the Gas Co., Ranjiv assists customers to increase water pumping efficiencies and reduce power and energy costs while increasing Reliability and Flexibility. He is involved in developing Measures and Applications that will increase energy savings and fuel efficiencies while reducing Green House Gas (GHG) impacts and meeting sustainability and (Renewable Portfolio Standards) RPS goals.
ROB STARR
Toro Company
Rob has over 35 years of experience in advanced engineering / manufacturing technology and operations management.
During his career, he has developed various intelligent weather-based controllers and other high-tech products for both the irrigation and electronics industries. Prior to joining Toro, Rob was the VP/General Manager of Aqua Conserve Inc., a manufacture of irrigation controllers and related ancillary products. And, with the Emerson Electric Company for 14 years serving in different capacities such as Director of Operations (Astec Power division) and Director – Systems Integration Group (Emerson Process Management division).
As a representative of The Toro Company and a member of the Board of Directors for the Building Industry Association (BIA), Rob participated as a contributing author to the Riverside County Water Ordinance #859. Rob also serves as a contributing member of the National Green Building Standards committee for water efficiency. In addition, he is a member of the Strategic Advisory Board for California Baptist University – School of Engineering and also participates on El Camino Community College District’s Natural Sciences Advisory Panel,
Rob earned his B.S Electronic Engineering and MS-Physics degrees at California State University, Northridge. He is also a certified professional electronic engineer and is the host of the award winning NBC News Radio show “The Water Zone”.
